Personality:

Subaru is the twin brother of Kamui, who together are a pair of purebred vampires who are known and being hunted down by Seishirou; a vampire hunter who is traveling to different worlds in order to learn more about the twins' whereabouts in order to ultimately encounter them once more. Their ultimate goal is to escape Seishirou's pursuit. This is made possible through Yuuko granting them both the ability to travel to different worlds themselves, for a price. Still, Subaru shares a unique connection with the hunter. What kind of connection he has with Seishirou exactly is not known, but what is known to us is that he had received blood from Subaru in the past.

While his brother shares a strong feeling of resentment toward Seishirou, Subaru is able to show concern toward the hunter. Enough to the point of inquiring about him from Fuuma, his younger brother. He is kind hearted; able to share similar feelings of empathy for others, whether they happen to be close to him or perfect strangers. He takes pity upon those who have been caught up in tragic circumstances, and apologizes for any transgressions on his behalf. Whether or not he has truly done anything wrong. These, and other personality traits, set him slightly apart from the nature of his brother, Kamui. He is patient, thoughtful, polite and calm, and he likes to see things through, rather than to abandon them without any regard.

Subaru and Kamui share a deep relationship themselves; that of a pair of twin brothers who share a mutual understanding of one another. Although they possess different personality traits, they are still very caring and protective of one other and share the same ultimate goal. If Kamui is ever threatened, Subaru tends to get very angry and hostile. The reverse is also true.

What your character can offer:

Subaru is a purebred vampire in every sense of the word (with a CLAMP twist). His body possesses incredible regenerative capabilities, great strength, speed and agility surpassing that of a human. As such, even his blood alone can be considered to be very powerful. If one were to receive it, then they would not die. However, the cost is that they would become a vampire themselves; having to drink the blood of many humans over time. Subaru is not required to drink blood with the same amount and consistency as those merely bearing vampiric traits. Though it is still a necessity, and trying to go too long without drinking any blood will only weaken him in the end.

Unlike the vampires in legends, Subaru is not vulnerable to sunlight or holy water. As a reflection of his twin brother's abilities, he is able to maneuver his body underwater fluidly and can breathe without having to return to the surface. He also possesses enhanced senses, granting him the ability to hear things from long distances, for example. But this ability can go deeper still, as he is able to detect the presence of souls and sorcery or magic, and project the sound of his own voice and thoughts to other people.

Yet another of the unique abilities that he shares with his twin brother is that he posses a set of retractable claws, not unlike a cat. He extend these claws from his hands at will. Since they are very long and sharp, he can use them as either weapons or a means of defending himself from attackers.

What items will they be bringing with them?

Subaru has no need for a weapon, and so he won't have one on his person. He will only have himself and the clothes on his back.

Third-Person Sample:

Subaru stirred, feeling the presence of an unknown power as it drew near. …No. Maybe it would be more accurate to say that it felt more like another soul was coming. But why? … It was not Kamui.
He sighed wearily within that placid cocoon, his body drained from a sleep that has already lasted three years.

… You are…

“…Sakura.”

You should not be here.

“Where is… this?”

Beneath the water.

“Why are you here?”

I am in a deep sleep.

“Here?”

Yes. …Can you not wake up?

He was starting to get concerned. This girl, whom he barely knew, should not have to be made to suffer such a fate as this. It was his own mistake. One that costed his freedom, and separated him from his twin brother. – He was only grateful that he could spare Kamui the same fate, to keep him from being sucked in by this great power that was only trying to protect the feather within.

“I’m sleeping too?”

Yes. You must wake up.

“Then what about you?”

…

Subaru couldn’t answer her. He didn’t know how. But he could sense that Sakura had gotten closer. – No. This wasn’t good…. He must keep trying. He must prevent this tragedy from happening again.

Wake up. Before you are trapped by the dream.

“I can’t. My eyes won’t open.”

Wake… Wake up. Wake up.

It was no use. Even while trapped by the dream, he could still feel the space around him shifting. That only meant one thing. That he had been unable to stop her, and that she had now become trapped along with him. This kind girl… The only voice that he had heard with such clarity in such a long time, other than his brother’s.

His body and soul slept deep beneath the surface of the reservoir, even though he could feel the presence of that power more clearly than he ever could on that day long ago. It was curious thing. ...But with his sense of awareness, he still couldn’t help but feel pity for Sakura.

Surely she had people who were precious to her, like he, and that they would only be able to wait until the day her soul could awaken once more.

First-Person Sample:

Where… am I?

[…] This is not Tokyo. The air smells different here, and its colder. …Brother-

[He gasps, a distinct note of panic can be heard in his voice as he cries out.] Brother! …Kamui!!

[Several minutes pass by with only the sound of running footsteps, and soon Subaru is short of breath.]

No. This can’t be… How were we able to be separated like this? The ability to cross dimensions should only be possible if we’re together.

…

[He sighs.] Wait. I must try to remain calm. Panicking will do me no good like this, and what I said just now is the truth He must be here. Somewhere, in this world. I must try to find my bearings, and reunite with him out as soon as possible.

Kamui… I’m sorry. I know how long you’ve been waiting for me in Tokyo, but please… just be patient for a little while longer.

This time, it will be my turn to find you.
